Poplar place for food. I popped in for a swift half of Timothy Taylor’s landlord on my travels. Friendly staff. The building has an interesting history with links to the annual Croft carnival.

One of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time, and service to match. Pub food done at the highest level in my opinion. We went for my mother's birthday ...I have no complaints whatsoever. Definitely worth a visit. The bar area decor is top notch ...

Lovely atmosphere, superb food, excellent service, and gorgeous view from the patio. Now breakfast every morning from 9.30am.The delicious changing menu does not disappoint. Warm and toastie with a real fire that even the dogs love. The General Elliot store is a real treat. Absolutely gorgeous to sit outside on a sunny day with a coffee and watch the world go by or stop for a rest during a walk or cycle.

The GE is our new favourite local after moving to the area in May. It's such a cosy, homely place with a good selection of drinks and food. We've eaten there a few times and it's always been spot on. Will be going to their firework display this year which we're excited about

This pub/restaurant has been recommended to me a few times, so we thought we'd try it today for the first time, for lunch. It's a really clean, warm place with a great ambience. There's a choice of bar food and a la carte. It's on the pricey side, but the food was very good and the service very friendly. Free and easy parking. I would recommend booking a table, as it can be busy, apparently. We've decided to go back there for dinner soon.

A very pleasant experience having lunch here. Nice, clean and bright place that offers snacks from the bar or 2 and 3 course meals and a wide selection of drinks, all at a reasonable price. The staff is welcoming and friendly, the food is delicious and well presented. Will be back to have some dinner one day soon.

Beautiful old pub with lovely decor and beams. Staff really kind and cheerful, and the food was amazing! It's a little bit dearer than average but you can tell the quality of food is good. I got the chicken supreme, chestnut stuffing, dauphinoise potatoes, carrots and mushroom veloute, and my mum got the "chippy tea", it was delish
